Sedbergh (pronounced Sed-Ber), an ancient market town in northern Dentdale, is just inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The town, with its narrow streets, little shops, traditional pubs, famous school dating back to 1536 and its 12th Century church has an olde worlde atmosphere. Dentdale, the jewel of the Yorkshire Dales with its rolling hills and dry stone walls, stretches 14 miles from the windswept moors below Whernside to the confluence of the rivers Dee and Rawthey. At the centre of the dale is Dent, with its cobbled streets, which has existed since Norman times. There are three golf courses nearby, as well as tennis, riding, & fishing, and the area is a walkers' paradise. This, together with the tranquillity of the surrounding valleys and the two nearby National Parks, make an ideal year-round holiday destination.

Surrounded by rolling farmland, there are excellent footpaths from the doorstep to Cautley Spout, Britain's highest waterfall, and on through dramatic Dentdale, while the local area is home to various wildlife including pheasants and badgers. With the Farfield Art and Heritage Centre and the towns of Hawes and Dent all within easy reach, these lovely properties make an ideal base in which to relax and unwind and from which to tour both the Lakes and Dales at any time of the year.
